GuestI’ve noticed the chrome trim around the windows and the grille on my Continental is losing its shine, it’s not exactly rusting but there’s this grey dullness and some fine scratches that make it look older than it is. I’ve read that some chrome is actually plastic with a thin metallic coating and polishing it aggressively can rub straight through, which has made me nervous to touch it myself. There are also some water spots on the brightwork near the doors that look etched in, probably from years of condensation or rain sitting there. I came across leading Bentley detailing near MBZ City while looking into whether this is fixable, and I’m curious what the realistic options are. Can dull or lightly damaged chrome be properly restored, or does it usually need replacing? And is there a safe way to clean it at home without wrecking the finish further? Also wondering if ceramic coating helps prevent this dulling on chrome specifically or if it’s really just for paint. Anyone with experience on Bentley trim or older chrome in general would be a big help.
